description	Briggs & Stratton Corporation,founded in 1908,is the world's largest manufacturer of gasoline engines. Primarily used in residential and commercial outdoor power equipment, Briggs and Stratton engines provide power for lawn maintenance equipment, pressure washers, snow throwers, and home or portable generator systems. The company, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (US), is over 100 years old and manufactures more than 100 different models of engines that range from 1 to 35 horsepower. Briggs and Stratton has the largest service network providing superior after-sales service with over 35,000 dealers covering 110 countries throughout the world. In 1986, Briggs and Stratton Corp. established the first China-US joint venture in Chongqing which was originally named Puyi-Briggs & Stratton Engine Co., Ltd. Later, in January of 2003, Briggs and Stratton purchased additional registered capital shares for 31 million USD to acquire 95% of the JV and changed the name to Briggs & Stratton (Chongqing) Engine Co., Ltd. The total investment into the company was 52 million USD making Briggs & Stratton (Chongqing) Engine Co., Ltd. one of the top foreign investments in Chongqing. Briggs & Stratton (Chongqing) Engine Co., Ltd., located in Chongqing New North Zone, has over 20,000 square meters of manufacturing space and the capacity to produce over 1,000,000 engines per year.
